JourneyWall · About · My prints
Your journey, on your wall.
Turn the route of a trip you loved into a beautiful map print: your road trip, your hike, your sailing summer. Made to order, framed or on canvas, and delivered to your door.
Free to design. You only pay when you order. Prices include VAT and delivery.
How it works
- Add your trip: Drop in GPS tracks (GPX, KML, KMZ), open a Map Animator project, or draw the route on the map. As many routes as you like.
- Make it yours: Pick a map style, size and layout. Add a headline, the places you stayed and your trip in numbers: distance, days, stops.
- Choose how it’s made: Poster, wooden or aluminium frame, fine art, canvas, acrylic, aluminium or wood. See it up close and on a real wall.
- Hang it: Printed close to you by Gelato, in 32 countries, and sent to your door.
Made the way you want it
Every print is made to order on premium materials, close to where you live.
Questions and answers
What is JourneyWall?
JourneyWall turns the route of a trip into a printed map for your wall. You add your route, choose a map style, size and finish, and we print it to order and deliver it to your door.
Which GPS files can I use?
GPX, KML and KMZ files, which most GPS devices and apps can export (Garmin, Strava, Komoot and many more), and Map Animator projects. No file? Draw the route on the map instead. One print can show as many routes as you like.
What kinds of trips can I make a print of?
Anything with a route: road trips, motorcycle tours, hikes, bike rides, runs, sailing trips and long journeys across several countries. Distances can be shown in kilometres, miles or nautical miles.
What can I put on the print besides the route?
A headline and subtitle, the places you stayed with small icons, your trip in numbers (distance, days, stops, metres climbed), a compass, a scale bar and the coordinates. You can also highlight countries, states and regions with a colour and a border.
Which map styles are there?
Seven: soft ink wash, light grey, vintage parchment, pure black on white, white on black, and a nautical sea chart in colour or grey. Place names can be shown in your language, and states, regions and roads can be switched on or off.
What sizes and materials can I choose?
Posters, posters with a wooden hanger, framed posters, fine art prints, canvas, framed canvas, and prints on aluminium, acrylic glass, foam board and wood. Sizes go from A4 to 70 × 100 cm, also in inches, upright or wide.
How much does a print cost?
Designing is free and needs no account. The price of each product and size is shown as you choose, and includes VAT and delivery to your door. You only pay when you order.
Where is my print made, and how long does delivery take?
Your print is made by Gelato, in the print house nearest to you among more than 30 countries, so it travels a short way and usually avoids customs. It is usually made within a few working days and then sent by a local carrier; the expected delivery date is shown at checkout.
What if something is wrong with my print?
If it arrives damaged, faulty or not as ordered, email us a few photos and we will send a new print or refund you, as you prefer. Prints are made to your own design, so there is no 14-day right of withdrawal, but an order can be cancelled for a full refund before production starts.
Do I need an account? Where are my prints saved?
No account is needed. Your prints are saved in your browser as you work, and you can save any print as a file to open it on another computer.
Where do the maps come from?
From OpenStreetMap, the free world map made by millions of mappers, with OpenMapTiles and OpenFreeMap. Their licence asks for credit, so each print carries one small line along its bottom edge.
Bringing my adventures home
I’m Robert, and I ride motorcycles to places far from home. I’ve done it for many years, and there are plenty more adventures ahead. A few of them are on our front page: Türkiye from west to east, the dirt roads of Tanzania, the length of Great Britain, the ADV Cannonball Rally across the United States and the mountains of Pakistan.
Back home, the days on the road fade faster than I’d like. The photos disappear into my phone, and the GPS tracks into a folder nobody opens. I wanted something on the wall that brings it all back each time I walk past: the whole route, where it started, where it ended, how far it went.
I couldn’t find a print that was both beautiful and true to the road I actually rode, so I made one. Every bend in those lines has a story, and only I know most of them. That’s what makes them worth hanging.
Thank you for being here. I hope JourneyWall helps you keep your own stories, and that you’ll love your print as much as I love mine.

Built on open maps
Our maps come from OpenStreetMap, the free world map drawn by millions of mappers, with OpenMapTiles and OpenFreeMap. Their licence asks for credit, so every print carries one tiny line along its bottom edge, set in a shade close to the paper so it never takes the eye from your trip.
